Hi! I'm Petrina
If you’re here, chances are your teenager is somewhere between “I have no idea what to do” and “I know what I think I want, but I don’t know why or how to get there.” And you’re trying to figure out how to help them, without adding to the pressure they’re already feeling.
That’s exactly where I come in.
I’m a Career Coach and Talent Development specialist with over 20 years of experience helping people, from senior cycle students, college graduates to senior leaders, figure out what they’re good at, what they actually want, and what to do next.
Over the last five years, I’ve worked with hundreds of students right across Ireland, from Galway to Dublin, Donegal to Cork, and beyond (with Irish roots).
The one thing I know for certain is this: your teenager already has more going for them than they think. They just need the right questions, the right space, and someone who genuinely gets them.
I’m also a mum of three boys. So I understand this from both sides of the kitchen table.
Who I work with?

Why work with me?
Before I pivoted towards Career Coaching, I spent over 20 years in HR, Recruitment and Talent Development and worked with some of Ireland’s biggest companies and international organisations across Europe and the US. I’ve sat across from thousands of people at every stage of their career, and helped them figure out what they were actually good at, what they wanted, and how to go after it.
In 2019, I brought all of that experience home, literally, and founded Career Navigation Consultants to focus on our future world-of-work stars: young people standing at the start of their story, trying to figure out which direction to face.
Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of students right across Ireland. I’ve seen what happens when a teenager goes from “I have no idea” to “actually, I think I know what I want.” It changes everything. Their confidence, their focus, the conversations at home. And we help them see and be open to the world of possibilities as they develop in their careers.
I’m also a mum of three boys, which means I know what this looks like from your side of the table too. I don’t do corporate speak or generic advice. I do honest, practical, human conversations that get to the heart of what your teenager actually needs.
And I’m known for being straight-talking. That's probably the farmer’s daughter in me.
What careers decisions do you need support with?
There are so many choices to be made, over the course of our careers, which can benefit from independent career guidance and coaching:
- Choosing subjects for Leaving Certificate at Junior Cert and / or Transition Year
- CAO college choice selection for both Level 8 and Level 6/7 courses
- Post Leaving Certificate and FETAC programmes
- Apprenticeship or Tertiary Degree possibilities
- Going straight to work, and perhaps taking a part time study option
- Switching college courses and choosing subject specialisations
