CAREER GUIDANCE FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 

We help school students, from Junior Cert to Leaving Cert, to explore, detect and discover their future college and career possibilities so that they can make informed decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

I support secondary school students to explore, dream and discover their best career possibilities. 

I work with teenagers and college-bound students to make decisions about post-school opportunities. Together, we identify what makes them unique, what matters to them.  And then we explore their future career possibilities and best career / college options. 


I help students recognise their brilliance and the value that they can bring to the world of work.  This gives them greater clarity and confidence in making decisions about their future.

As parents, we want our children to avoid taking too many wrong choices in their career. If you've ever felt unhappy, stuck or lost in your career, you may be wondering how you can best help your son or daughter increase their chances of making decisions that will them achieve career success and happiness.

  • You (or your son or daughter) need to make decisions about subjects, college or life after school
  • You are devoid of ideas or overwhelmed with the range of possibilities ahead 
  • You cannot choose what the best options are and when you do think you've settled on something, you have doubts and change your mind again 
  • You are lacking in motivation for studying, feeling under pressure and think you are the only one that has not yet figured it out?
  • You dread, and side-step, the 'what are you going to do when you finish your leaving certificate' question?

Why our process works

We follow a step by step process, which students' find engaging, yet can be adapted, for each client, to include:
 - working with a leading supplier of careers and aptitude tests to provide insights into why students should further explore key career areas
- using physical cards to help them identify their strengths, interests and values, which they often know but are unable to put into words themselves
- using advanced career coaching tools and techniques to help students become more aware of their unique strengths, interests and skills
- providing strategies and tips to investigate and prototype the identified career possibilities
- guiding students on next steps which may range from work placements, job / apprenticeship search and college or further education courses.  College isn't for everyone so we provide a range of options for after the leaving certificate.
- updating parents / guardians on outcomes from the consultation process along with a detailed report to guide further exploration and decision making

Step One: Assessments

 Step one is the completion of online careers profiler and aptitude assessments to provide an in-depth, scientific assessment of each client.  On completion I review the results before our meeting to understand your interests and aptitudes.  

Step Two: Consultation

I meet all students online or in person, for up to 2 hours, to dive deeper into your unique interests, preferences, and aspirations.  I help you understand what matters most to you.  And then, we explore your best next-step options for your future career and college success. 

Step Three:  Debrief & Report

We wrap up each consultation by debriefing with a parent or guardian.  We also provide an in-depth report and access to an online portal to enable further research.  We ensure students have a plan on what to do next to get on their best path, CAO or further education courses, etc.   And I am available to answer further ad-hoc questions as needed during school.
